A Word Form Your Pastor
Our PSR program begins this Sunday, September 12. We are happy to have the children back in-person.
This weekend, our nation commemorates the 9/11 anniversary, even as this long war in Afghanistan comes to a close. Please remember in your prayers all those who died on that terrible day and in the days that followed. We must also hold in our prayers all those who perished in the 20 years since 9/11 - our own military forces and Afghanistan victims as well. May they all rest in peace.
Of course, we continue to pray for our brave service men and women who lost their lives in Afghanistan, along with all the many Americans and Afghans who have not yet been able to leave the country. May peace yet reign in that sad land.
Masks? Again?...
The correct answer today is perhaps. The bishop’s office sent a memo on Thursday afternoon that stated : “…it would be prudent to increase the encouragement we offer to those gathering in church to wear masks, regardless of their vaccination status. Accordingly, it is recommended that signs be posted at church entrances stating: “Please wear a mask inside the Church. Thank you.”
There is not enough time to get our ducks in a row for this weekend; so we will be asking parishioners to do the above next weekend. The priests' council will meet with the bishop next Thursday, so we expect there will be further word on where we’re headed.
Let us all pray for each other as we deal with the deadly Delta variant. Thanks for your understanding.
God bless,
Msgr Enke
